Description
Ça aurait la longueur d’un trait bleu est une installation alliant pilotage de cerf-volant, photographie, impression mécanique et assemblage textile. Elle est élaborée d’une rive à l’autre de l’océan, par-dessus celui-ci, en bateau à voiles et en avion.
Un cerf-volant emporte une caméra, fait voler un regard pour voir la mer depuis le ciel, puis une machine imprime cette étendue d’un trait d’encre bleue. Ce trait flotte dans l’espace et le divise.
Peu importe la complexité de nos techniques ou l’étendue de nos efforts, les distances à parcourir sont incompressibles. Elles demeurent et, parfois, nous y passons. Le monde paraît à la fois immense et minuscule. Ça aurait la longueur d’un trait bleu.
Ça aurait la longueur d’un trait bleu is an installation project mixing kite flying, photography, mechanical printing and textile assembly. The work involves both sides of the ocean and everywhere in between, with the help of sailboats and airplanes.
A kite carries a camera, throws a glance towards the sea from up there in the sky.
Then a machine prints this body of water as a stretch of blue ink.
This line floats in space and divides it.
No matter how complex our techniques or how hard we work, the distances we have to cover are incompressible: they remain. And sometimes, we pass through them.
The world seems at once gigantic and tiny.
It could be the length of a blue line.
Biographie
Le travail de Pierre Coric (1994, Liège, Belgique) est un tissage de différentes pratiques techniques et technologiques. Navigation, programmation informatique et fabrication d’objets textiles sont les composantes d’installations éphémères et de performances qui, révélant par éclats un quotidien décalé, nous font réenvisager nos perceptions du monde.
Pierre Coric’s body of work is a weaving of different technical and technological practices. Navigation, computer programming and the making of textile objects are the components of ephemeral installations and performances which, by revealing an offbeat kind of normal, make us rethink our perceptions of the world.
